M/A-COMs
DoD experience ranges from aerospace to wireless
shipboard communications and has encompassed some
of the most sophisticated electronics devices
available anywhere in the world. This has created
a M/A-COM engineering culture and expertise in
designing highly reliable MIL-Standard and extremely
ruggedized equipment.
In
wireless communications, M/A-COMs EDACS-based
HYDRA shipboard communications system has been
deployed on more than 70 US Navy ships. HYDRA
integrates existing, stand-alone systems into
a single, reliable, highly capable communications
system using Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS)
equipment
with modifications to meet the needs of a shipboard
system. In
addition to the US Navy HYDRA systems, many EDACS
LMR networks are in place at US military and other
government installations around the world. For
example, M/A-COM is the supplier for the Naval
District Washington (NDW). |
